Master\u2019s Thesis Defense \u2013 College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Surgery and Animal Reproduction<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Master\u2019s thesis titled \u201cThe Effect of Dexamethasone on Estrogen and Prolactin and Their Impact on Ovarian and Mammary Gland Activity in Lactating Rabbits\u201d<\/strong> by the student Manar Masoud Mousa<\/strong>, supervised by Asst. Prof. Ilyas Khidr Hussein<\/strong> and Asst. Lecturer Ghada Abdulrahman Sultan<\/strong>, was defended on Wednesday, September 2, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The study aimed to investigate the effect of dexamethasone<\/strong> on blood levels of estrogen<\/strong> and prolactin<\/strong>, as well as the associated histological and immunohistochemical changes in the ovaries and mammary glands of lactating rabbits. The results demonstrated a negative impact<\/strong> of dexamethasone treatment on estrogen and prolactin concentrations, in addition to inhibition of follicular growth and development<\/strong>, reduced estrogen receptor expression<\/strong> in ovarian tissue, and decreased diameters of secretory vesicles and ducts<\/strong> within and between mammary gland lobules.<\/p>\n

    After the student confidently and scientifically defended her thesis and responded to the committee\u2019s questions, the thesis was approved<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Congratulations to the researcher, the supervisors, the College, and the Department of Surgery and Animal Reproduction on this scientific achievement.
