\u201cThe Effect of Androgen on Ovarian Follicular Dynamics in Immature Female Rats: An Animal Model of Inactive Ovary\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

was defended by Ms. Israa Khalid Ramadan<\/strong> under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Essam Bahnan Bashir<\/strong> on Wednesday, October 7, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The study evaluated the effects of nandrolone decanoate treatment<\/strong>, administered either alone or in combination with equine chorionic gonadotropin ,<\/strong> on ovarian follicular growth and granulosa cell proliferation in prepubertal female rats as an experimental model of inactive ovaries in cattle.<\/p>\n

    The findings demonstrated that androgen exerts a dose- and duration-dependent biphasic effect<\/strong>. Long-term administration of a high dose suppressed follicular growth and reduced granulosa cell proliferation, whereas a low dose enhanced reproductive efficiency and ovulation. The combination with equine chorionic gonadotropin<\/strong> partially alleviated the adverse effects of high-dose nandrolone and stimulated ovarian activity, with the highest levels observed when equine chorionic gonadotropin<\/strong> was combined with the low dose.<\/p>\n

    The study concluded that both the dose and duration of treatment<\/strong> play critical roles in determining androgen effects. It also highlighted the ability of equine chorionic gonadotropin<\/strong> to partially modify and mitigate androgen-induced negative impacts, thereby expanding our understanding of androgen-associated ovarian inactivity in both experimental and applied contexts.<\/p>\n
