\nProf.\u202fQutaiba\u00a0T.\u202fAl\u2011Yuzbakey chaired the \u201cCommittee for Addressing Water Scarcity in Nineveh\u201d at the Governor\u2019s Office, reviewing recently submitted projects to the Ministry of Water Resources, planning their implementation, and outlining the Committee\u2019s future work.<\/li>\n
\nOur delegation\u2014Prof.\u202fAl\u2011Yuzbakey (Center Director & Documentation Officer), Prof.\u202fHadeer\u202fG.\u202fM.\u202fAdeeb (Liaison to the University\u2019s Sustainable Development Committee), research engineers Mustafa\u202fS.\u202fMustafa and Basma\u202fA.\u202fAl\u2011Jawadi (Documentation Unit), and coordinators Adi\u202fY.\u202fAziz, Mustafa\u202fM.\u202fM.\u202fSadiq, and Mohammed\u202fA.\u202fKhaleel\u2014participated in Mosul University\u2019s Sustainable Development Festival. We exhibited six posters showcasing applied research on sustainable water-resources management, geological studies, and related infrastructure; demonstrated our laboratory equipment and testing services; and highlighted our training courses, symposia, and conferences on water\u2011resource sustainability in Iraq.<\/li>\n
\nProf.\u202fAl\u2011Yuzbakey and Dr.\u202fAli\u202fM.\u202fSuleiman represented the Center in a meeting with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Mosul University delegates (Departments of Dams & Water Resources, Agriculture, Remote Sensing, and Environmental Research). The IOM outlined its plans for resettling displaced persons in Nineveh and requested the University\u2019s collaboration\u2014providing research, proposals, and expertise in water\u2011use efficiency, drought and desertification mitigation, and sustainable water\u2011resource development to support agricultural livelihoods.<\/li>\n
\nProf.\u202fAl\u2011Yuzbakey visited the Ministry of Water Resources\u2019 International Rivers Division to discuss a joint study on Law\u00a023\u202f\/\u202f2007 regarding Iraq\u2019s water allocations.<\/li>\n
\nThe Center exhibited scientific instruments and poster summaries of our core activities\u2014supporting postgraduate researchers, state agencies, and the private sector\u2014in the First Mosul International Expo for Agriculture, Food, Water & Livestock (\u201cAgriculture: Abundance and Everlasting Giving\u201d), hosted at the University of Mosul\u2019s Faculty of Physical Education, under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and the Governor of Nineveh.<\/li>\n
\n\u2013 Prof.\u202fAl\u2011Yuzbakey received a Medal of Participation<\/strong> from the University President for our role in the \u201cSustainable Development Festival.\u201d

\nConducted a detailed field assessment of sinkhole causes in Tal Afar for the Provincial Disaster Management Department.<\/li>\n
\nProfessors Othman and Al\u2011Yuzbakey visited Mosul Dam with the dam\u2019s engineering team\u2014reviewing its current status and planning joint research initiatives.<\/li>\n
\nMet with Nineveh\u2019s Director of Agriculture, Dr.\u202fDreid\u202fH.\u202fTobiya, to strengthen collaboration\u2014discussing Tigris\u2011level impacts on canal banks, flood risks, and rainwater\u2011harvesting for agriculture. Invited the Agriculture Director to our 25\u202fNovember\u202f2019 symposium.<\/li>\n
