On Thursday, May 30, 2024, members of the Dams and Water Resources Research Center, led by the Center Director Dr. Kotayba T. Al-Youzbakey, conducted a scientific field visit to the Mosul Dam Project Directorate. The delegation included some members of the Center’s faculty and engineers.<\/p>\n

During the visit, they met with the project manager, Senior Chief Engineer Hatem Tayyib Fathi, who elaborated on the strategic role of the Mosul Dam in meeting Iraq’s water needs.<\/p>\n

Mr. Fathi provided an overview of the technical activities undertaken in the project over the past period to ensure the dam’s operation and to meet the daily monitoring requirements.<\/p>\n

The visit also explored potential areas for cooperation between our center’s staff and the Mosul Dam Project management. Additionally, the center’s members were briefed on some of the main facilities of the project and the ongoing technical activities conducted by the project team.<\/p>\n
