The 46th session of the Arab Scientific Research Councils Union meetings, hosted by Iraq\u2019s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was held at the University of Baghdad.<\/p>\n
The opening session featured official speeches by Dr. Abdel-Majid Benamara, Secretary-General of the Arab Scientific Research Councils Union, the president of the 45th session, representatives of the Arab Universities Union, and the League of Arab States, as well as a lecture on indicators of science, technology, and innovation in the Arab world.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, welcomed the hosting of the 46th session, during which experts and representatives of member states focused on strengthening the execution map of the union\u2019s work, enhancing scientific research, and fostering a collaborative environment aligned with the objectives and mission of academic institutions that influence their Arab, regional, and global surroundings.<\/p>\n
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted the challenges facing scientific research in the Arab world, emphasizing the need for teamwork and a unified strategic vision. He stressed that the achievements of Arab universities and institutions in scientific research position them to secure prominent roles in global indexing platforms and reputable outlets.<\/p>\n
The minister called for the launch of the Arab Scientific Research Award and urged the Union\u2019s General Secretariat to study and adopt the proposal. He suggested adding the award to the union’s accredited initiatives to encourage Arab researchers, forming a joint committee to organize procedures and allocate financial prizes for this purpose.<\/p>\n
During the event, Dr. Abdel-Majid Benamara honored Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi for his role in hosting the 46th session. The Minister of Higher Education, in turn, recognized representatives of scientific research organizations and the Secretary-General\u2019s representative of the League of Arab States.<\/p>\n
