On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, chaired the university council\u2019s eighth session for the 2024\u20132025 academic year, with the participation of council members. The session hosted Engineer Sohaib Waadallah Al-Burawi, Director of the Administrative Affairs Department.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed the department\u2019s activities, including the development of green spaces on campus and their maintenance to promote environmental sustainability. The council also reviewed the progress in upgrading the electricity unit and the commencement of solar energy systems in several colleges not covered by the central power grid, in partnership with the German Bank.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the council emphasized the importance of collaboration between colleges and local, national, and international universities in scientific activities, such as conferences, seminars, and the formation of joint research teams. Discussions included enhancing applied research in cooperation with the Nineveh Governorate to provide scientific and practical solutions to the region\u2019s challenges, with the ultimate goal of achieving institutional accreditation.<\/p>\n

Several other items on the meeting\u2019s agenda were also deliberated.<\/p>\n
