The College of Engineering at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on \u201cDesigning an Energy Harvesting System for Wireless Sensor Network Applications\u201d on Thursday, February 27, 2025.<\/p>\n
Part of it was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha, and a number of college academics.<\/p>\n
The thesis submitted by the student \u201cWissam Anis Younis Muhammad\u201d aimed to \u201cdesign an energy harvesting system for radio frequencies at 5.8 kHz for wireless sensor network applications and provide a sustainable and reliable power source for low-power devices\u201d.<\/p>\n
The thesis dealt with \u201cthe design of the receiving antenna using microstrip patch antennas using antenna arrays technology as well as AMC metamaterials technology, where a set of designs were analyzed and optimized and the design that achieved the highest specifications was selected, which is a 1*4 array, as well as the design of the rectification circuit responsible for converting AC power into DC power for use in charging batteries for low-power devices using a Schottky HSMS 2860 diaphragm and the design of an impedance matching circuit to ensure the greatest power transfer from the antenna to the rectification circuit.\u201d<\/p>\n
