On Monday, January 19, 2026, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, received Mr. Saadoun Emkaeef, Member of the Nineveh Provincial Council and Head of its Legal Committee. The meeting aimed to strengthen the cooperation between the University of Mosul and the local authority in the province.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, several issues of mutual interest were discussed, with a focus on supporting the educational process, improving the university environment, and enhancing the scientific and advisory role of the University of Mosul in serving the local community and state institutions.<\/p>\n
The two parties also addressed the issue of the university’s land holdings, particularly the land in Al-Qadiyah area. Extensive discussions were held on the necessary legal and administrative measures required to recover the university’s land, ensuring the preservation of its properties and future expansion and development rights.<\/p>\n
Both parties emphasized the importance of building legal and academic bridges of cooperation between the two institutions to support reconstruction and development efforts in Nineveh Governorate.<\/p>\n
In his part, the Council Member praised the pioneering role of the University of Mosul in providing the community with scientific expertise and specialized competencies, stressing the Council\u2019s support for educational institutions.
