The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches organized an awareness seminar in Tal Keif district to promote literacy among rural women.
The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches held an educational awareness seminar for rural women on the literacy program implemented in remote rural areas, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Committee and the Nineveh Agriculture Directorate/Tal Keif Agriculture Division, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Agricultural Engineer Assistant Rasha Hamid Awad and Agricultural Engineer Assistant Rawnaq Mohammed Hamoudi participated in preparing and delivering lectures for the seminar.
The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of education in improving the reality of rural women and enhancing their participation in agricultural and social development. It also addressed the mechanisms for implementing literacy programs and the challenges faced by women in remote areas. The seminar received positive interaction from the attendees, amidst calls to intensify such initiatives that contribute to empowering rural women intellectually and professionally. This seminar is part of the Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
