Scientific Workshop on Climate Variability and Its Impact on Iraq Held at Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches.
The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul organized a scientific workshop titled “Climate Variability and Its Impact on Iraq” on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. The event was attended by a select group of researchers and agricultural engineers.
The workshop featured presentations by: Assist. Lecturer Mohammed Fawzi Al-Qattan (Quality Assurance, Presidency of the University of Mosul) Assist. Lecturer Hassan Jamal Al-Bazzaz (College of Environment, University of Mosul) Assistant Agricultural Engineer Dalal Nabil Najm (Staff member at the Center)
The workshop addressed the most prominent manifestations of climate variability in Iraq and its effects on the agricultural sector and natural resources. It also included a discussion of possible solutions for adaptation to these changes within the framework of sustainable development.
The workshop specifically focused on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). This event is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Center with the aim of raising environmental awareness.
