Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s (C.AFCAR) at the University of Mosul Participates in a Meeting Organized by the World Food Programme (WFP).

AFCAR Center, represented by Prof. Dr. Salem Hamadi Antar, the head of the Agronomy Department, participated in the inaugural meeting for the project “Community-Inspired Voices for Climate Variability Action.” The meeting was organized by the World Food Programme (WFP) on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
The session was held at the Nineveh Agriculture Directorate (DoA) and was attended by several representatives from the Ninawa universities and government directorates. Attendees included the University of Mosul, the Northern Technical University, the University of Tal Afar, the Directorate of Environment, the Directorate of Agriculture, and the Nineveh Governorate.
The project aims to enhance cooperation between academic, governmental, and community institutions in Sinjar, Tal Afar, and Al-Ba’aj regions. It focuses on addressing climate change challenges through sustainable local initiatives that are grounded in community input and needs.
During his participation, Dr. Salem Hamadi emphasized the vital research and scientific role undertaken by the University of Mosul in supporting agricultural and environmental policies. He underscored the necessity of integrating efforts among all relevant stakeholders to achieve the project’s objectives.
