Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches Hosts Committee to Follow Up on Koha Library System Implementation.

The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul received a specialized committee from the General Secretariat of the Central Library on Monday, November 24, 2025.
The visit aimed to monitor the progress of implementing the global automated catalog system “Koha” within the Center’s library, assess the technical aspects related to its activation, and provide the necessary support to ensure its full integration with the Central Library’s electronic system.
Koha is one of the most prominent open-source library management systems, enabling the electronic cataloging, archiving, and lending of scientific resources. This significantly facilitates high-efficiency access to books and research for the Center’s researchers, agricultural specialists, and undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Colleges of Agriculture.
This visit falls within the framework of institutional cooperation between the University’s formations and is a pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education), by providing advanced educational tools, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), by building a robust digital infrastructure that supports scientific research.
