Scientific Visit by Field Crops Department Students to the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches , University of Mosul.

The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul hosted third-year students from the Field Crops Department at the College of Agriculture and Forestry on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The students were accompanied by their instructor, Prof. Dr. Salim Abdullah Ghazal, for a scientific visit to observe the genetic structures of forage crops available at the Center.
The students were received by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ma’an Mohammed Saleh (Head of the Genetic Resources Department at the Center). Dr. Saleh delivered an introductory lecture covering the nature of the Center’s work and its key research activities in the field of dryland and conservation agriculture, with a focus on the legume crops implemented in the Center’s fields, which were sourced from international research centers and organizations.
He also led the students on a field tour of the Center’s facilities, which included an inspection of the scientific laboratories, machinery, and modern equipment owned by the Center.
This visit is part of the framework to enhance academic and research cooperation between the Center and educational institutions, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), by promoting the protection of terrestrial ecosystems.
