Scientific Visit of Students from the College of Agriculture and Forestry to the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches – University of Mosul.

The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul welcomed, on Monday, December 15, 2025, second-year students from the Department of Animal Production, the Department of Food Sciences, and the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering at the College of Agriculture and Forestry. This visit was conducted as part of the scientific field visit program aimed at enhancing practical learning and linking students with real-world research environments.
The visiting delegation was received by the Center’s administration, where Dr. Ma’an Mohammed Saleh and Dr. Mahmoud Awad Hussein, researchers at the Center, delivered scientific lectures highlighting the Center’s operational mechanisms, its most prominent research activities in the fields of dryland and conservation agriculture, and its role in supporting scientific research and developing sustainable agricultural technologies.
The researchers also accompanied the students on a field tour within the Center’s facilities, which included visits to scientific laboratories and an overview of the modern machinery and equipment available at the Center. This provided students with a valuable opportunity to closely explore the Center’s research and technical capacities and to enhance their understanding of the applied aspects of agricultural studies.
This scientific visit contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 15 (Life on Land), which focuses on protecting terrestrial ecosystems, combating desertification, and halting land degradation and biodiversity loss, in line with the Center’s efforts to develop sustainable agricultural practices that serve both the environment and society.
