Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research

   On Monday, 23 December 2025, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches at the University of Mosul received the research and administrative staff of the Laser and Photonics Center at Al-Hamdaniya University, headed by Professor Muna Yohanna Sliwa, Director of the Center, accompanied by a number of researchers and staff members.

   The visiting delegation was welcomed by Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Al-Taweel, Director of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches, along with the heads of the Center’s scientific departments. During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was delivered on the nature of the Center’s work, its research and service activities, and its role in serving farmers and supporting the agricultural sector and scientific research, particularly in dry and semi-arid environments.

   The visit included a scientific field tour of the Center’s departments, laboratories, and research facilities, during which the delegation was introduced to the available scientific and technical capacities, mechanisms for implementing field and laboratory experiments, and potential areas for joint research collaboration between the two sides.

   This visit comes within the framework of strengthening joint scientific cooperation between universities and research centers and exchanging scientific expertise, in a manner that contributes to supporting applied scientific research and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

• Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the development of scientific research and the building of academic capacities.

• Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) by supporting agricultural research and improving food production.

• Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the utilization of modern technologies in scientific research.
