The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research – University of Mosul Conducts a Field Visit to Nineveh Agricultural Preparatory School in Support of Sustainable Development.

In line with its firm commitment to strengthening scientific research and serving the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—a specialized team from the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul carried out a field visit on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, to Nineveh Agricultural Preparatory School in support of sustainable development pathways.

The visit was led by Dr. Ma’an Mohammed Saleh, Head of the Department of Genetic Resources at the Center, with the participation of a number of researchers and engineers. The visit aimed to implement research experiments for the Department of Genetic Resources in the fields of Nineveh Agricultural Preparatory School.

These experiments aim to develop crop varieties adapted to local environmental conditions, thereby contributing to enhanced food security, addressing the impacts of climate change, and strengthening effective partnerships among research, educational, and community institutions.

This step comes within the framework of the University of Mosul’s directives to link scientific research outputs with actual developmental needs and to harness scientific capabilities in the service of the community and the achievement of sustainable agricultural development.
