The Electronic Computing Center initiated work on the University of Mosul’s website in 2004. This effort laid the foundation for establishing a dedicated unit for the university website in 2006. A committee was formed, comprising a group of university faculty members as well as staff from the Electronic Computing Center. This unit is responsible for creating the University of Mosul’s website on the World Wide Web, as well as overseeing its continuous updating and development.

Since the university’s website serves as an introductory interface and a communication bridge between the university and those interested in learning about it from anywhere in the world, great attention has been given to developing a site that represents the prestigious University of Mosul along with all its units and branches. The website provides information about all the university’s colleges, departments, research and service centers, in addition to the Presidency Directorates and the Graduate Studies Division. This information includes an overview of each college and division, details of their activities, graduate statistics, future admission plans, and curricula—all available in Arabic, English, and French. The website is published under the following address: www.uomosul.edu.iq.

The website also offers an email service by creating email accounts on the university domain for all colleges, research centers, and some presidency units. The center has worked on publishing weekly teaching schedules for the colleges and research centers to facilitate easy access to the academic process. Additionally, the website aims to provide each faculty member at the university with a personal page containing their curriculum vitae.

Another objective is to present scientific resources such as theses, dissertations, books, research papers, and scientific courses to serve all researchers, students, and faculty members, thereby facilitating access to valuable academic materials.

This unit also supervises other university websites, including the University Network site, which includes a set of guidelines and instructions for university members on how to use the university network and benefit from the network’s antivirus program, including instructions on installation and use. This ensures optimal usage and continuity of the network’s operation.
