The Centre for Continuing Education adopts the concept of the productive university by providing qualification and training programmes for the teaching and administrative staff of the University of Mosul and other educational institutions. These programmes aim to enhance their professional, educational, and functional performance, while providing support and assistance to promote a better understanding of the realities and requirements of university education in accordance with comprehensive quality standards. The Centre also seeks to strengthen its engagement with the community and the private sector and contribute to addressing learning-related challenges.
Mission
The Centre seeks to develop teaching staff and equip them to meet the requirements of sustainable development through a diverse range of training programmes and workshops that introduce recent scientific developments, emphasise educational and professional competencies, provide training in modern teaching methods and educational technologies, and promote the effective implementation of e-learning to foster better interaction with students. This contributes to creating a scientific and educational university environment that is aligned with labour-market requirements and the comprehensive development goals of society. The Centre also contributes to promoting a culture of lifelong learning and employing knowledge technologies across various fields. In addition, it provides community services through training and professional development programmes designed to support the objectives of government institutions and the private sector in accordance with their training needs.
Objectives
To organise courses on modern university teaching methods to develop the teaching staff of the University and other educational institutions.
To organise specialised training courses for the University’s teaching and administrative staff in accordance with their professional and training needs.
To provide training courses in e-learning and the use of interactive whiteboards in classroom teaching.
To organise courses on occupational safety and security within university laboratories.
To provide academic and educational consultations to the colleges and academic departments of the University and to educational institutions in Nineveh Governorate.
To develop cultural and educational relations with counterpart institutions and organisations inside and outside Iraq, and to organise seminars, meetings, and academic workshops in the fields of teaching methods and educational technologies.
To provide training courses that serve the community and the governmental institutions of Nineveh Governorate in a variety of specialised fields
