The study compared the effect of various concentrations of Vitamin C solution on the healing of intentionally induced skin wounds in rabbits by histological examination and the expression of the MMP-9 marker in the wound healing area. It was concluded by the study that topical application of vitamin C solution can greatly enhance the secondary wound healing and using the higher concentration (10%) resulted in better outcomes.
