Monitoring Unit
Monitoring Unit
The Monitoring Unit is an independent body within the Department of Dormitory Affairs. Its primary role is to follow up on service-related activities and ensure that students’ needs are being met within the internal housing facilities.
The unit oversees the performance of supervisory staff within the dormitories and ensures that administrative procedures are carried out efficiently and in accordance with established standards. It also assesses the quality of services provided within the student housing complexes.
One of the critical responsibilities of the unit is to supervise the inspection procedures related to mobile phones with cameras, especially within female dormitories where such devices are strictly prohibited. The unit handles the confiscation of these phones through a designated committee and coordinates with the students’ families to facilitate the proper return of the devices.
Additionally, the unit monitors the work of contracted cleaning companies and janitorial staff employed directly by the department to ensure a clean and safe living environment for all residents.
