The IELTS Unit Staff at the University of Mosul Visits the Main Office of the British Council in Erbil.
With the direct support of the esteemed Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the respected Professor Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim Jassim, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and through the efforts of the esteemed Assistant Professor Dr. Maher Sami Hassan, Head of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Unit at the University of Mosul, the unit’s staff made an official visit to the main office of the British Council in Erbil on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, upon a kind invitation from the Council.
The visiting delegation consisted of the unit head, several members, and IELTS test invigilators — a specialized team from the IELTS Unit at the University of Mosul — with the purpose of learning about the latest developments and updates related to the IELTS exam and discussing ways to enhance and improve the services provided to test-takers at the center.
During the meeting, discussions took place around the new technical and organizational updates regarding the exam, as well as the exchange of experiences and suggestions aimed at improving performance quality across testing centers. The meeting also addressed providing support and facilities for both staff and candidates.
Additionally, the discussions included the possibility of introducing new features and services that would enhance the efficiency of the Mosul testing center in line with international standards and in response to the needs of students from Nineveh Province, neighboring areas, and Iraq as a whole.
This visit affirms the University of Mosul’s commitment to academic openness and the development of international partnerships, which contributes to strengthening the university’s role and position as a leader in delivering advanced educational and assessment services.
The newly discussed features and services will soon be announced through the official website of the University of Mosul, as well as on its social media platforms, to ensure that all students and interested individuals are informed.
