Overview of the Center

IELTS Center at the University of Mosul

The IELTS Center at the University of Mosul is an internationally recognized center for the Computer-delivered IELTS (International English Language Testing System). It aims to provide services for English language proficiency testing for individuals who wish to:

  • Enroll in international universities and academic institutions

  • Immigrate to English-speaking countries

The center issues official and globally recognized IELTS certificates by the British Council in Iraq.

Establishment of the Center

The center was officially inaugurated on October 1, 2023, in accordance with the directives of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under a partnership agreement with the British Council, the official and accredited body for IELTS testing in Iraq.

Location and Area

  • Location: Scientific and Literary Forum Building, University of Mosul

  • Area: Approximately 200 square meters

Center Facilities

The center includes seven fully equipped rooms to cover all stages of the IELTS test:

  1. Two large testing halls for Writing, Reading, and Listening modules:

    • Capacity: 36 seats each

    • Equipped with modern computers

  2. One small room for the Speaking test (conducted electronically):

    • Equipped with a modern computer

  3. Registration room:

    • Includes two computers

    • High-resolution camera and fingerprint scanner

  4. Security and storage room:

    • For inspecting and storing candidates’ personal belongings

  5. Secure document storage room:

    • For storing important documents and equipment

  6. Staff operations room:

    • A large room designated for the center’s administrative and technical staff
