In the pursuit of the direction of the University of Mosul, headed by Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, that the University Academics should have pioneered the humanitarian initiatives aimed to establish the principles of donation and under the supervision of Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the University libraries, the Central Library received dozens of Al-Ostath magazine issued by the College of Education/Ibn Rushd of the University of Baghdad, as a gift from Asst. Prof. Dr. Nabeel Mohammed, Lecture, Quran Sciences Department, College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Mosul. His donation was a contribution to the supporting of the Central Library for its central and active role in providing the requirements of the scientific research in the University. The staff of the Periodical Unit began sorting the donated magazines according to specializations to be cataloged and indexed to be within the reach of the students and researchers.
