Central Library

As a reflection of the vision of the University of Mosul, headed by Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, to focus the international attention on the University institutions and activities, Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the University Libraries, welcomed Mr. Mithaq Al-Khateeb, representative of ARTIVISTA Organization and Al-Salam Radio, in his office. Mr. Mithaq held a long conversation with Mr. Sayf, addressing files relating to the support and development of the University libraries, especially the Central Library, and the significant role played by the international and local media in casting light on the exceptional efforts of the Library’s General Secretary and administrative and technical staff, which consistently encouraged and followed by the University President, to bring up the University to the global level befitting its reputation as one of the long-established universities in the Middle East. Mr. Sayf underlined the importance of strengthening the collaboration bonds between the University and the organization and mass media to convey to the local and international forums the shining image of the University to promote the values of science, knowledge and humanity in contrary to backwardness and hatred called by the terrorist groups of ISIS. After that, the Secretary General took the visitor on a tour in the Central Library to take a closer look at the workflow in it to emphasize the concern of the Library’s General Secretariat and staff for keeping pace with the development of the world of information and libraries. At the end of the visit, Mr. Mithaq appreciated Mr. Secretary General’s warm welcome and the sincere efforts made by the Library staff, wishing them constant success and brilliance in serving the University’s scientific and cultural process
