University of Mosul Hosts Ministerial Training Workshop in E-learning

Under the auspices and presence of Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, President of the University of Mosul, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held a workshop entitled () hosted by the University Continuing Education Center in the Scientific and Literary Forum on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. A Ministerial E-Learning Team headed by Dr. Amer Samir Al-Amir in addition to Mr. Vice-President for Scientific Affairs of the University, a number of the University Council’s members, directors of the departments, the Director of the Continuing Education Center and Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the University Libraries, and two lecturers of interest in addition attended the workshop. At the opening of the workshop, Dr. Amer Samir Al-Amir, Head of the Ministerial E-Learning Team, mentioned that the University of Mosul had an appropriate infrastructure in the field of E-learning and hence it is qualified to move forward to advanced stages in distance education, since it is the first in this regard on Iraqi universities, despite being destroyed and sabotaged by ISIS. He added that it had a database containing 12,000 courses of studies on the internet in various scientific and human fields, which is the highest number among the non-affected, stable and locally and internationally supported Iraqi universities. He also talked about the University’s scientific and research prominent place as a beacon of science that radiates knowledge because it is full of prestigious scientific values. He appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, the University Rector, to raise the University level to take its position among the world’s notable universities to achieve advanced levels in the adopted international classifications and this is something expected to happen soon. He also praised the efforts of the University staff at the scientific and human colleges in the field of E-Learning. During the workshop, a University shield was presented to the Head and members of the Ministerial E-Learning Team by the University Rector, in recognition of their efforts to improve the reality of our dear country.
