It is Utopia, Gentlemen

Society as a whole dreams of living in a relatively perfect place. Thomas Moore, a British thinker, gave the name Utopia to the perfect place he dreamt of, a place away from what makes his life miserable. Moore’s Utopia is embodied in my imagination like the rain of Mosul spring, whenever I stand in front the Central Library building in the University of Mosul. When I move from outside the library to its inside, I feel a spiritual spatìotemporal transition, from a real world to an ideal utopia. I fall in silence and contemplation, and I feel like my mental, spiritual, and even physical genes are changing whenever I make this wonderful move. I do not think that I am the only one who is going through this experience, but I can assure that dozens, and even hundreds of the library’s visitors enjoy this move to the ideal library world, since it has become their beautiful outlet and safe haven. They are distinguished by their love for it and their presence among its shelves, seats and corridors, as if they are an eternal and integral part of its magic. As a lover of books and knowledge, the Central Library at the University of Mosul is (and will remain) the most perfect example of utopia in my life. It is my epic love and I will always write about it and mention it as my utopia.Safwan Sabah QasimJournalistIraqi Journalists Union#Library_in_a_Story#Central_Library
