General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) Sends a Circular to its Members to Support the Central Library
In line with efforts of the Presidency of the University of Mosul to revitalize cooperation with local and international academic institutions, the General Secretariat of the University Libraries continued to cooperate and communicate with the General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities which directed its members to support the Central Library and meet its urgent needs, since it suffers from serious deficiencies due to its destruction and burning during military operations in liberating the city of Mosul from ISIS terrorist groups that committed indescribable atrocities against the city of Mosul in general and the University of Mosul and its Central Library in particular. The reviving of the Central Library, which is as old as the long-established University of Mosul, can not achieved without concerted support from local, Arab and international scientific and cultural institutions to restore its regional reputation as an indispensable source of priceless knowledge for the University students and researchers for many decades. The AARU’s initiative will be a great chance for the Central Library at the University of Mosul to coordinate and collaborate constructively with the libraries of other Arab universities, leading to enhanced cognitive exchange among them in the future.
