Within the framework of the vision of the University of Mosul, headed by Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, to participate in international observances aimed at building a better world, the Secretary-General of the University Libraries Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar and the library staff members share the international community the celebration of the World Refugee Day observed June 20 each year by the UNHCR United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The theme of this year’s observance is (Every Action Counts) to raise awareness of the situation of refugees and recognize their lives throughout the world, meeting their needs arising from the scourge of wars, conflicts, racial differentiation, natural calamities and the current health catastrophe of Covid-19 pandemic. The heart of UNHCR’s World Refugee Day campaign is that everyone can make a difference to contribute to society in the effort to create a more just, inclusive and equal world.
