(Al-Rawdha Al-Fayhaa in Women’s History) by Al-Khatib Al-Omari Al-Mawsilli

The history of women has received great attention from historians in the Arab Islamic civilization, and among those historical works is the book (Al-Rawdha Al-Fayhaa in Women’s History) which was written by Yassin Bin Khairallah Bin Mahmoud Al-Khatib Al-Omari Al-Mawsilli (died after 1232 AH/1817 AD) and published by the Cultural Books Association (Beirut:2000).The book opens with an explanation of the reasons of writing this book with the inclusion of some Quranic verses and honorable Hadiths that call for honoring women and the necessity of choosing a righteous woman to make a family. Then it starts listing biographies of the most righteous women throughout the history of various nations and civilizations and the great efforts they made to serve humanity, without overlooking the mentioning of some bad women and their negative roles in abusing man and civilization over the history. The book is concluded with an overview of some women famous for their intelligence, and the author’s position on the topic of lucky and unlucky days.I think that this purposeful and interesting book is worth reading.Sarab Abdulsattar Al-ShahriGovernor’s Advisor for Services AffairsNineveh Governorate Office#Share_your_Readings
