It is a biography of the ill-fated French queen Marie Antoinette by the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig. The Arabic language edition of the book was published by Osama Publishing House (Damascus: 2003). Marie was the most controversial historical figure. She was an Austrian princess who married the future king of France Louis XVI to become the last queen of France before the French Revolution. After the success of the revolution, the French monarchy was abolished and she and her husband the king were convicted of high treason and executed by guillotine in 1793.
