Within the approach of the University of Mosul headed by Rector Kossay Al-Ahmady, that the postgraduate students abroad should introduce their University’s reality, ambition and message to the international scientific forums, the Secretary-General of the University Libraries Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar was in constant contact with Mr. Muhammad Jassim Al-Hamdani, PhD student on scholarship abroad and one of the Library’s faculty members, who graciously gave a comprehensive lecture in the Autonomous University of Barcelona on the reality of libraries in conflict areas – a study on the reality of the Central Library of the University of Mosul before and after Daesh, indicating the ISIS destructive impact on the University, especially the Central Library and mentioning the volunteer efforts of Mosul youth in saving the undamaged books under the rubble, cleaning the University buildings and holding various cultural festivals. During his lecture, Mr. Muhammad also referred to the University’s successful management of the electronic exam file for the first time during the Corona pandemic. The lecture was well received and interacted with the president of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, deans of faculties, and officials of research centers at the university which expressed its great desire to cooperate with the University of Mosul and provide it with various academic support and programs for the benefit of its students and researchers.
