Central Library

Within the approach of the University of Mosul, headed by Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, to open-up to global and local institutions and organizations, and in coordination with the French-Iraqi Cultural Institute and the Francophone Corner Unit, Mr. George Edmond and Mr. Khalil Aitut, representatives of the French organizations Jameel and Merieux, paid a visit to the Central Library. They were warmly welcomed by the Secretary-General of the University Libraries, Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, who briefed them with the current situation and future expectations of the reconstruction of the Central Library and the extent of international and local cooperation to support it after the liberation of the University of Mosul from the control of ISIS, showing the importance of the organizations and media in highlighting and introducing the existing status of the Library and the need to rehabilitate and support it. An interactive discussion ensued, in which the proposals that would contribute to community service in light of the current Corona pandemic and the resulting economic crisis have been addressed. At the end of the visit, the visitors expressed their admiration for the impressive accomplishments in the Library despite the big challenges, hoping to establish mechanisms for the purpose of communication and cooperation in all fields
