Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the University Libraries, Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, the Central Library conducted an online training course entitled (Standards and Formulation of Subject Headings) on the 5th, 6th and 7th of June, 2021, delivered by Asst. Prof. Rafal Nizar, Department of Information and Libraries, College of Arts and Asst. Lect. Rawa Salahuddin, Central Library, administered by Asst. Lect. Zina Tareq and electronically administered by Dr. Ghada Abdulkarim. The course discussed the concept, criteria, principles of selecting and reference of subject headings as well as formulating subdividing of subject headings and subsections of subject catalogue. The course was completed on the third day with an exam for the course attendees who were granted participation and examination passing certificates.
