Central Library

On November 14, 2021, the Secretary-General of the University Libraries, Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar , and the library staff members received the teams of Al-Rabiaa Iraq and Al-ghadeer TVs, who came to document the stages of the reconstruction of the Central Library. Mr. Sayf provided the TV teams with a full explanation of the Library before and after ISIS and the cultural and scientific role it played and is still playing in the upbringing of generations since its establishment until the present time, mentioning the difficulties and challenges it faced when it was occupied by ISIS, who looted, burned and destroyed it, and how it returned after liberation to its former era as a great cultural and scientific edifice, and the reconstruction of its former building to keep pace with development like advanced global libraries through local, regional and global support. In the end, the TV teams met with some of the library’s users, who expressed their pride in the Library and their happiness in its reconstruction and the return of life to it.
