Central Library

On the occasion of the reopening of the Central Library, the General Secretariat of the University of Mosul Libraries celebrated the retired library staff members in recognition of their efforts during their years of service in the Central Library and Ibn Khaldun Library. The celebration began with the recitation of some Quran verses followed by a speech by Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary General of the University Libraries, praising the efforts made by the library retirees in serving the Central Library, the University and the society in cooperation with other local and international supporters to retrieve and restore the Central Library which was massively sabotaged by the terrorist ISIS. During the celebration, a documentary video footage was shown explaining the stages the library destruction and reconstruction. The event included many activities, celebrating the library retirees and the long-awaited reopening of the Central Library.
