The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs Prof. Dr. Haidar Abd Dhahad met online with the members of the Steering Committee gathered to hold their first meeting at the Central Library of the University of Mosul, namely the Director of the UNESCO Iraq Office Paolo Fontani, the Scientific Assistant President of the University of Mosul Prof. Dr. Munir Salem, the Secretary General of the University Libraries Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, the members of the Project’s Team, the Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department as well as the  Official of the Projects of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Iraq Ms. Kita Crazia who participated in the meeting online. The meeting was to discuss the results of the meetings held by the Work Group, which consists of the Secretary General and officials of library divisions, some university employees, technology and technical system specialists in the Central Library and the Computer Center, regarding the Project of Restoring the Central Library. The importance of the project supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Italian government and UNESCO was praised during the meeting. At the end of the meeting, timeline for project implementation was agreed, observations were presented, the role of Central Library employees and the importance of supporting sub libraries were praised and regular meetings were agreed upon to follow up on achieving the project objectives.
