Central Library

In an effort by the Alahmady-presided University of Mosul to maintain communication with its supporters, the Secretary General of the University of Mosul Libraries Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, together with a number of officials of the Central Library divisions; the Director of the University Library Restoration Project Mr. Humam Talal; the Preservation, Digitization and Capability-building Advisor Mr. Abdullah Ahmed from the UNESCO Iraq Office and the Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, received the Director of the Economic Development Program Mr. Pierre Luigi and the Program Coordinator Ms. Monica from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation(AICS), who paid a visit to the Central Library and were impressed with the distinguished efforts made by the library staff members of the Central Library and sub-libraries to follow the directives of the President of the University of Mosul and serve the library users. During the visit, the work stages in the Restoration of University Library Project to update the Central Library technologically were reviewed. It was agreed to continue cooperation between the UNESCO, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Italian Embassy, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, and the Steering Committee to ensure progress of the modernization and automation of the Central Library.
