Specialized training courses within the project of the central library restoration of the University of Mosul

In the implementation of the directives of the Honorable President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr.Wahid Al-Ibrahimi, on the necessity of supporting the technical staff and developing their skills as one of the basic pillars for the advancement of the university, and within the project of the central library restoration implemented by UNESCO, a number of members of the central library participated in a specialized training course entitled “Digital Archiving,” for the period from 4 to 15, May 2025.
The course included two main axes:
The first axis: practical training on specialized office angiography devices.
The second axis: Training on digital transformation and digitization programs, including image processing, design, and preparation for uploading to digital repositories.
The course was delivered by Mr. Hassanein Ahmed Hassan, Director of the Center for Indexing and Information Systems at the Holy Abbasid Shrine, and Mr. Engineer Mustafa Alaa Hassoun.The course dealt with training on a device
The V scanner is the device used to scan images or documents and convert them into digital form, as well as on one of the digital transformation programs, which is Photoshop, for image editing and graphic design to prepare information containers for uploading to the digital repository
This course is an important step towards establishing the Digitization and Archiving Center in the Central Library, which will contribute to preserving the cultural and scientific heritage and making digital resources available to researchers and students, thus enhancing the library’s role as a major source of knowledge and innovation.
These efforts come within the framework of the university’s vision aimed at achieving comprehensive digital transformation and developing an integrated educational and research environment that serves the academic community and keep up with the global developments
