The Mosul Heritage House holds a major celebration to shed light the Central Library’s restoration project

In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, the President of the Mosul University, the respected Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and Mr. Omar Namiq, Technical Deputy Governor of Nineveh, a major celebration was held on Thursday evening, July 31, 2025, at the Mosul Heritage House (Beit Al-Rahim), to highlight on the Central Library restoration project of the Mosul University which is implemented by UNESCO in partnership with the Mosul University and with the support of the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The celebration was attended by UNESCO representatives and a group of academic, cultural and media figures.
The Secretary-General of the University Libraries, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jassim Muhammad, participated in a dialogue session during which he talked about the role of the Central Library in supporting the scientific research and its continuous efforts in providing an advanced knowledge environment that meets the needs of students and researchers. He also stressed the importance of international cooperation in improving the situation of the library and rehabilitating it in line with the requirements of the modern academic stage.
The event included artistic and cultural segments that expressed the depth of the authentic Mosul heritage, and highlighted the university’s position and pioneering role in preserving the heritage and supporting the
knowledge and cultural movement in the.
