Symposium (Financial and administrative corruption and requirements to reduce it in public universities)

Under the auspices of the Honorable President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the Libraries of the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, and as part of the activities of the Continuing Education Division in the Central Library, the library organized the symposium entitled (Financial and Administrative Corruption and Requirements to Reduce It in Public Universities)
It was delivered by A.M.Dr. Ali Malallah Abdullah, College of Administration and Economics ,and it was coordinated and presented by Ms. Saba Maad Al-Jubouri, Head of the Continuing Education Division at the Library, on Monday 10/27/2025, the symposium covered the concept of financial and administrative corruption and highlighted their negative effects on the quality of education and the efficiency of public spending. The symposium also discussed the most prominent reasons leading to the spread of corruption, such as weak control, lack of accountability, weak transparency and administrative dominance, and lack of clear instructions It also proposes a set of necessary requirements to reduce corruption in these institutions, develop internal control
systems, activate the role of audit units, enhance transparency, adopt university governance, spread a culture of integrity, and apply accountability standards..
