The activities of the Book Forum and Fair, which witnessed wide participation and high turnout from researchers, creators and publishers from inside and outside Iraq, concluded to form a significant cultural event that restored the city of Mosul to its cultural luster and its pioneering role in spreading science and knowledg after years of the destruction .
I expressed my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Honorable President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, for his outstanding efforts and distinct directions in making this event success, and to the deans of the colleges and their councils for their support in making this event success, and to the follow-up and media departments and the University Presidency Office for their great efforts throughout the Fair period. I would like to mention our dear students in particular from the volunteers who were our help throughout the fair period.
I also expressed my thanks and gratitude to the UNESCO Iraq Office, represented by dear brother Hummam Talal, and to dear brother Ihab Al-Qaisi, President of the Publishers and Writers Association, for the good organization and distinguished supervision, and to the staff of the Central Library at the University of Mosul, who made exceptional efforts from the beginning of preparations until the end of the fair..
We deeply appreciate the presence and participation of Arab researchers and creators who travelled from the United States, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Syria to participate in rich dialogue sessions that enriched the atmosphere of the forum and gained a distinctive intellectual character to it
This cultural experience at the University of Mosul was a milestone and grand fingerprint that reflected the renaissance of the city and its university after years of challenge
It was a rich experience from which we benefited greatly and from which we acquired the lessons and experiences that will make the upcoming forums more distinguished, organized and bright so that the University of Mosul will continue at a steady pace its journey towards academic and cultural leadership
