A workshop on ((the civilizational and historical role of the capital, Baghdad))

Under the auspices of the Honorable President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Direcctor-General of the of the University of Mosul Libraries, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, the Continuing Education Division in the Central Library, in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul, Department of Studies and Planning, organized the workshop entitled ((The and historical role of the capital, Baghdad)) on Sunday 11-30-2025.it was delivered by A.M.Dr. Alia Hashem Nazeer Al-Mashhadani, and it was conducted, and presented by Ms. Saba Maad Ahmed, head of the Continuing Education Division at the library.
The workshop covered the city of Baghdad in 148 AH, as it had a pioneering role in Arab-Islamic civilization on various civilizational levels, most notably political and scientific. As for the political aspect, the city of Baghdad was the capital of the most powerful ruling political authority at that time, which was the Abbasid Caliphate, thus other political forces present in the arena at that time were keen to establish good relations with the Abbasid Caliphate, including the Byzantine Empire On the scientific side, the city of Baghdad represented a center for attracting scholars and students of knowledge in various scientific specializations, and people who interested in the scientific side came to it from different parts of the Islamic state. This can be observed in all its details in the book “History of Baghdad” by Al-Khaeeb Al-Baghdadi. Thus, the workshop achieve: . The Fourth goal: Good Education.the
