Intellectuals always need encyclopedic books with comprehensive, concise and discreet information written by professional writers. So,after spending long years of reading and following various scientific and cultural publications, I did not find a woman-related historical reference more comprehensive and sober than Omar Qahhala’s book (Famous Women in the Arab and Islamic Worlds) that historically documents women’s efforts in public and civil life. I am impressed with this distinguished documentary project of biographical index of women famous in intellectual scientific, political, charitable, and religious matters of life since the pre-Islam time to the present day, arranged alphabetically and appended to sources and references with contemporary perfect language and distinctive literary style that spare the researchers the trouble of searching books and sources.It is necessary for the contemporary women to increase their knowledge and culture on women’s bright civilizational history, in particular, to motivate them to continue the path of the present feminist achievements by leaving imprint befitting them as a Mosuli and Iraqi women. Gladly, I recommend choosing this notable encyclopedic book to be the reference on their history.
