Participation in the electronic training course on “Skills in the Art of Critical Thinking in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and the Abundance of Information”

M.M. Rawa Salah El-Din Ziada, Head of the Automated Catalog Unit, and Ms. Iman Khader participated in the electronic course organized by the Unified Arab Catalog as part of the activities of the Sustainable Development Program for the year 2026, and under the logo: “With thinking skills, we make artificial intelligence at our service.” In its first training course, which reflects the response to the increasing challenges in the age of artificial intelligence and the flow of information, for the period from January 19-20, 2026, and through the platform of the Unified Arab Catalog Academy, the course was delivered by Dr. Iman Mohammed, a knowledge management expert in the Department of Libraries and information, Faculty of Arts,Monufia University (Egypt). The course covered
Distinguishing between reliable and misleading information –
Evaluating digital knowledge sources with professional awareness –
Analyzing the outcomes of generative AI tools critically and responsibly –
The target of the course:
-Providing trainees with basic skills and practical tools that help evaluating digital information sources and verifying news.
Applying reliability standards to results retrieved from the Internet –
-mphasizing the role of libraries in confronting fake news.
It gives participants practical opportunities through interactive activities and tests that simulate the challenges of daily life, the professional environment, and the cognitive environment, which is characterized by the abundance of information and the speed of its circulation, especially in light of the spread of generative artificial intelligence tools. So, the course achieves the fourth goal: good education, the seventeenth goal: establishing partnerships fromsustainable development goals
