Under the aegis of the University of Mosul, headed by Prof. Dr. Kossay Al Ahmady, on encouraging all voluntary efforts that service the University members and the society, and under the supervision of Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the University Libraries, the (Step of Success) Volunteer Team held its second workshop entitled (By reading you make yourself: about reading and paying attention to it) at Ibn Khaldun Library. Throughout the workshop, Mr. Ahmad Arafat addressed many topics; especially the essentiality of directing and educating students and youth about the importance of reading in building individual and societal personality and its great role in nation’s advancing. Other topic was about offering advices for those who are interested in writing and have desires to engage in this experience, hoping to help them spare time and efforts by drawing upon their predecessors’ experiences in this important cultural area and by making them pay attention to the young writers’ mistakes and how to avoid them. Lastly, the team and the attendants expressed their appreciations to the University President and the General Secretariat of the University Libraries for their unlimited support for the youth and voluntary efforts for the public good.
