Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, President of the University of Mosul, the Department of Computer Science in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics held the fourth scientific seminar entitled (Towards Scientific and Objective Indicators of the Quality of Scientific Publishing) in the discussion hall of the College on Tuesday, December 24, 2019. The seminar was about scientific publishing which is one of the pillars of confirming the identity of academic institutions and their roles in disseminating the abstracts of scientific researches through scientific journals and websites. Mr. Vice President of the University and a number of college deans and lecturers as well as Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the University Libraries, attended the seminar. The opening lecture addressed the foundations and ethics of scientific publishing while the other three lectures emphasized the importance of the discreet dissemination of the University professor, the issue of the offprints, the writing strategies and methods of selecting the publishers. The seminar aimed to highlight the importance and basics of scientific publishing, made clear the latest update in scientific promotions, and enriched researchers with strategies used in reducing the rates of dissemination and discreet writing of scientific researches and educating researchers on how to select publishers and classifications of scientific sources.
