Word of the Secretary-General of the Central Library

The Central Library at the University of Mosul is one of the major scientific and knowledge cornerstones of our society. Despite the challenges faced by the Central Library, particularly its destruction by the terrorist group ISIS, its will to thrive and promote learning proved stronger. It has undergone a remarkable revival after its reconstruction, thanks to the efforts of its dedicated staff and support from both national and international entities. These efforts have significantly contributed to creating an integrated educational environment. The library is now more than a repository of books; it stands as a scientific, intellectual, and creative edifice.

It plays a pivotal role in advancing scientific research and supporting students and teaching staff by providing modern sources and references, as well as organizing cultural activities and workshops. Moreover, it strives to integrate the latest technology and digital resources, making it easier for researchers and students to access information efficiently. Through the joint efforts of its academic and administrative staff, the library has become a hub for education, research, innovation, and development.

The Central Library hosts numerous initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of reading and knowledge among students while fostering an educational environment that encourages research and development. As part of its continuous progress, the library actively seeks to establish partnerships with academic and research institutions at both national and international levels. These collaborations enhance academic cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise.

We are committed to maintaining the Central Library as a beacon of knowledge and a source of inspiration. Our efforts will continue to focus on developing our services and forging new partnerships that align with our vision of creating a distinguished scientific environment.
