The Department of Economic and Social Studies at Regional Studies Center, under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Luqman Omar Al-Nuaimy – Head of the Center – held a workshop named “Good Governance and Corruption Control”, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019; the submitted papers were managed and discussed by Dr. Nawfal Qasim Ali Al-Shahwan, Head of the Department. Dr. Abdullah Fadhil Al-Hayaly presented his research paper entitled “The Political Economy of Corruption, a survey approach. While Dr. Ameera Ismail submitted the topic of” Administrative and Economic Corruption in State Institutions “, whilst Dr. Suhaib Hazim Al-Ghadhanfari addressed” Freedom of Expression of Opinion”. Mr. Harith Raed talked about “Supporting transparency and accountability to enhance the quality of governance.” The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Khalid Khairuddin and Dr. Saad Salem Mulla Alou as well as researchers of the Center. The workshop witnessed extensive discussions and in-depth scientific dialogues. Finally, the workshop resulted in outcomes and recommendations that will be submitted to the presidency of Mosul University and then to the Ministry and concerned persons in the province of Nineveh.
