The Department of Public Policies at Regional Studies Center organized a workshop on “The importance of the Arabic language and its position among languages” on the occasion of the Arabic Language Day.During which Dr. Ziyad Abdul-Wahab Al-Nuaimy, Head of the Department, demonstrated the importance and celebration of the Arabic language , and the stages of global interest in it in the corridors of the United Nations, leading to the issuance of Resolution (3190) in 1973 by recognizing it as an official international language alongside the five official languages of the United Nations. The workshop included research papers presented by Dr. Jumana Mohammad Nayif – Public Policies Department – about the evolution of the Arabic language and the significance of development and features, while Dr. Shaima Idris Al Hashimy – Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education – referred to (the courage of the Arabic language) and discussed the stability of the Arabic language; its cohesion throughout the years and the extent of its distinctiveness and continuous growth. As for Dr. Sarwa Younis Al-Badrany – Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts – she dealt with the Arabic language horizons and reality and showed the development of the Arabic language and its spatial and temporal significance.The workshop was concluded with distributing certificates of appreciation to the participants and attendant researchers by Assist. Prof. Dr. Luqman Omar Mahmood Al-Nuaimy, Head of the Center.
