In the context of the persisting activities of the academics of Regional Studies Center, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ziyad Abdul-Wahab Al-Nuaimy published an article entitled “The Role of the United Nations in Combating Coronavirus Pandemic” on April 4, 2020. Through it, he discussed the importance of human rights and the severe health crisis for the Coronavirus pandemic, as it leads to the death of hundreds of thousands of people and its rapid spread, which necessitates the United Nations to intervene in two aspects. First, its charter obliges it to achieve its goals. The second is the possibility of linking what is happening today and its connection with international peace and security, as it represents a direct link to the threat of global food security, according to reports of the (FAW)organization, and its threat that affects international peace and security, in general.
